S.J Leah

About

S.J. Leah is a cross-genre historical fiction author who blends the past with the speculative, weaving threads of fantasy, sci-fi, and action-adventure into richly layered historical narratives. Her work also delves into historical literature, exploring the echoes between then and now—how much has changed, and how much remains the same.

Fascinated by history’s forgotten corners, Sam (as she’s known off the page) delights in unearthing the stories that still resonate today, teasing out the tensions, triumphs, and truths that transcend time.

She was awarded a prestigious Australian Society of Authors Copyright Agency mentorship in 2022, won the Historical Novel Society of Australia’s First Pages Pitch competition in 2021, and was an Orana Arts InScribe mentee.

Under the pen name Alivia Fleur, she also writes historical romance—where love always wins. But as S.J. Leah, she offers no such promises. Expect grit, heartbreak, and the haunting beauty of uncertain endings.

Her debut novel, When Yesterday Was Tomorrow, is set to launch on Kickstarter in 2026. To follow the prelaunch and be notified when the campaign goes live, follow her on Kickstarter HERE.
